Claw Combat, Kicks, and Defenses

Insomniac Games has designed a brutal, physical combat system centered around Logan's adamantium claws. Players can execute rapid barrages, devastating kicks, and timed critical strikes to break enemy defenses. Defensively, you can block and parry incoming attacks using your claws, which is highly integrated with the DualSense controller's haptic feedback. Unlike standard action games, Logan has a real-time healing factor. You will see visible damage on Logan's body during fights, which slowly regenerates over time, requiring players to balance aggression with tactical retreats.

Managing Rage Tiers and Last Stand

The flow of battle in Marvel's Wolverine is dictated by the Rage system. Landing consecutive combo attacks builds up a multi-tiered rage meter. Reaching Rage Tier 2 significantly amplifies your attack power and unlocks a crucial defensive ability called 'Last Stand'. If Logan is critically wounded, players can sacrifice their accumulated Tier 2 rage to instantly heal his body. This system creates a compelling risk-reward loop where players must decide whether to maintain offensive momentum or save their rage for emergency health regeneration.
